{"id":504,"date":"2022-10-29T21:07:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T19:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emigracio.abtk.hu\/?p=504"},"modified":"2022-11-22T11:03:58","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T10:03:58","slug":"attekintes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emigracio.abtk.hu\/en\/attekintes\/","title":{"rendered":"Overview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This project aims to provide a systematic and comprehensive examination of one of the most significant refugee crises in Europe recently, the migration and subsequent fate of some two hundred thousand people who left Hungary in 1956\/57 as a result of the Soviet invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are building research aids for students and scholars. Our handbooks in English and Hungarian provide an up-to-date synthesis of exisiting and cutting-edge research in the field for educational use. A comprehensive online guide to archival sources and a structured thematic bibliography is built to support new research. Our geo-referenced (GIS) linked database makes it possible to track refugee migration routes and explore refugee and \u00e9migr\u00e9 networks. By analysing experiences of immigrant communities, and processes of social integration, we want to understand the plight of the 1956\/57 refugees in the light of their impact on host societies and international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cThe Post-1956 Refugee Crisis and Hungarian \u00c9migr\u00e9 Communities During the Cold War\u201d project has received funding from the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (grant nr.
